About Dr. Jensen

Jonathan E. Jensen MD FACP FACG

Dr. Jensen, principal and founder of C2D2 and CEC, completed his MD and residency degree at Albany Medical College and Albany Medical Center Hospital. In 1991, he completed his academic track fellowship in digestive diseases and hepatology at Digestive Disorders and Liver Disease at Yale University in New Haven, CT. At that time, the academic track was an advanced fellowship incorporating continued clinical training and clinical research. His research was performed with Dr. Roberto Groszmann in cirrhosis and portal hypertension. After completing fellowship, he was appointed to the staff of the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, Fort Lauderdale Florida Campus) where he was subsequently appoint Head of the Section of Hepatology. In 1994, Dr. Jensen moved to Colorado to begin private practice. He opened his current practice in 1995.

Dr. Jensen has been awarded multiple honors, including the prestigious Fellowship of the American College of Physicians in 1994. In 2005, he was awarded the Fellowship of the American College of Gastroenterology. Both titles are an exceptional honor awarded to physicians who have consistently excelled and contributed to the art of medicine through teaching, research and community contributions. Dr. Jensen continues to support these endeavors as a volunteer faculty member at the University of Colorado Health Science Center, where he is a clinical professor of medicine. He is author of multiple articles and the Globetrotters Pocket Doc series, a series of medical texts for international travelers. He has lectured extensively in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Jensen is the only Boulder County gastroenterologist who is both a member of the prestigious American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and has been awarded both FACP and FACG status. 

In his off hours, Dr. Jensen enjoys skiing, scuba diving and outdoor activities in general. Travel is a primary interest but admits there is little time left to accomplish those goals. Other interests include antique automobiles, Formula 1 racing and tennis. Dr. Jensen lives with his wife and two children in Longmont, Colorado.
