
Dr. Richard D. Lozoff was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended The University of Wisconsin, in Madison, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. From there, he went to The University of Bologna in Italy, for four years, before transferring to the Rush University Medical College in Chicago Illinois, where he received his M.D. degree. Following medical school, he trained at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago in Internal Medicine, where he became the Chief Medical Resident. This was followed with a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Hines VA Hospital, also in Chicago, after which he became Board Certified.
Upon completing his training, he was recruited by Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri where he began a private practice in Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases. During his time there, he became the Chairman of the Gastroenterology department for 7 years, and also served as the Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine of 2 years. He enjoyed a teaching position at the Goppert F/P Residency Program, and was also the Director of the Colon Cancer Screening Program. In addition, he was Director of the Kansas City Center for Clinical Studies for 2 years, where he was involved in many different clinical research studies.
In 1997, Dr. Lozoff and his wife, Gail, moved to Colorado for his wife's career. He used the opportunity to follow another passion of his, and attended the professional Culinary Institute of six months, where he learned the art of French cooking. Having completed that program, Dr. Lozoff decided to return to medicine and joined Dr. Jonathan Jensen, in the summer of 1999, in the practice at Front Range Gastroenterology Associates.
Dr. Lozoff is a Board Ceritfied Gastroenterologist and is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology, a member of the American Gastroenterological Asoociation and The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
