Dr. Jensen is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He began his career in Medicine in 1978 when he started a Master of Science Program in Physiology at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. From 1978 to 1980, he studied oxygen transport to tissues during shock, eventually earning his Master of Science in Physiology.

In 1980, Dr. Jensen entered medical college and graduated in 1984 from the Albany Medical College. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency program in 1988 after a short hiatus of a year and a half into the field of Diagnostic Radiology. During this residency in Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Jensen realized his desire for direct patient contact superseded other interests.

In 1988 , Dr. Jensen began his Academic Track Fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. This consisted of training in Digestive Diseases, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy and advance training in Liver Disorders. He studied the pathophysiology of portal hypertension with Dr. Roberto Groszmann and has published two chapters on the subject.

In 1991, Dr. Jensen joined the staff of Cleveland Clinic Florida, the satellite clinic of the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, well known for its excellence in Digestive Diseases and Endoscopy. During his tenure, Dr. Jensen was named Head of the Section of Hepatology at the clinic. In addition to his interest in Liver Diseases, Dr. Jensen has lectured on Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and was awarded a Fellowship in The American College of Physicians in 1994.

In 1994, Dr. Jensen and his wife, Judy, moved to the front range area of Colorado to raise their two children.  His clinical academic interests have continued by his joining the faculty of the University Health Sciences Center in Denver. He teaches regularly at the Veterans Administration Center, has been appointed a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, and he   continues to lecture to his peers and layman alike. 

Through Colorado Center for Digestive Disorders, Dr. Jensen provides medical services at Avista Hospital in Louisville, Boulder Community Hospital and at the main office in Longmont.

Dr. Jensen is fully trained in all aspects of digestive disorders, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and liver diseases. He believes that positive medical outcomes are based on patient education and continuing medical education on the part of the physician.
